Submit a Paper

This meta-analysis is a living repository: it grows as new evidence is published. If you have estimated the price effect of a U.S. horizontal merger, we would like to include it. Use the form below to send us the details.

What we include

To keep estimates comparable, the meta-analysis has a focused scope. We can include a result if all of the following hold:

  • It is a U.S. merger.
  • It is a horizontal merger (not vertical, and not an airline code-share).
  • The paper reports a reduced-form, difference-in-differences estimate of the merger’s price effect.

Results estimated with other methods (e.g. structural simulation) fall outside the current scope. If you are unsure whether your paper qualifies, submit it anyway. We would rather review a borderline case than miss one.

What we will ask for

The form collects the information the meta-analysis needs:

Section Details
Paper Authors and institutions, year, journal, link to the paper.
Merger Merging companies, country, year, merger type, and (if known) the SDC Platinum deal identifier.
Result Years studied pre- and post-merger, the main price-effect estimate and its standard error, and the page it appears on. If the outcome is not in log-price, please provide the pre-treatment mean price and standard deviation so we can put it on a comparable scale.
Notes Anything else we should know, for example if the paper has multiple “main” specifications.

Note

Submissions are reviewed before being added to the meta-analysis. Inclusion does not imply endorsement of a paper’s conclusions, only that its estimate meets the scope criteria above. We may reach out to you if we have questions or clarifications about your paper.
